What are the ten Best American recipes?

I am going to be in Europe for a few months and while I am there I would like to cook for the family I am staying with…I am going to be in Germany but it is very close to France and Switzerland so they eat a variety of foods.
I use the term “American” loosely…I am open to ANYTHING! I am not a Professional Chef so nothing too difficult please! Please post the recipe or a link to it also.

PS: Red meat is difficult to find and expensive in Europe so chicken or fish would be best.

I would make hot dogs and roasted corn on the cob. Sausages over there have an entirely different flavor. Fried chicken is another good one especially if it is a group meal since they might fix a more german style potato salad and it would go well together. Lemon meringue pie. I recall meringue in Europe meaning hard cookies not the luscious peaked stuff we have on pie! Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting is pretty American and easy to do with simple ingredients. If you want a soup, chowders are big time American. If you are a baker I would do a zuchinni or banana bread. Pancakes are also a thing that is very different in Europe than here. Other vegetables… Carrot coins with the fried chicken would be good. I was going to say okra or something but they are probably hard to come by over there. Sorry, only had 9 ideas.
